Lenten Reader - 2022 - Call For Submissions!

Vulnerable.

Our theme for this year invites us to explore the realms of vulnerability. How do we see this playing out through our Lenten journey, in our daily lives, and in the world around us? As you create, join us in considering Lent through this lens.

Call For Submissions

2022 Lenten Reader

Timeline We will accept submissions until November 22nd. At that time, they will be reviewed by our Editorial Board. You will receive notice by December 10th

Who Anyone is welcome to submit work to the 2022 Lenten Reader! Our primary audience is Episcopalians in the Diocese of Chicago, but we welcome all perspectives and traditions to join us for this project.

Theme "Vulnerable” This year's theme comes from an exploration of the Lenten lectionary (daily readings from the Bible). Together we will be exploring the implications of “vulnerability” on our lenten journey. What does this idea conjure for you? We invite you to reflect on the readings (which we will also include in the Lenten Reader) and create work that asks us to ponder this concept together.

How- Submissions can be e-mailed to info@episcopalcharities.org

Please include an invoice for the work along with your e-mail address and a physical mailing address. Our Editorial Board will be reviewing submissions based on our budget and connection to the theme and mission of Episcopal Charities.

Cost- Submitting work for the Lenten Reader is free. You are also invited to submit more than one item. If you want to donate your submission, please indicate this on your invoice, and you will be given a tax document.

Use- This project is a collaboration. When you submit work to Episcopal Charities, you will be asked to sign a waiver acknowledging your invoice or donation and allowing us share your work in printed form and on our website and social media platforms. Your work will not be shared with third parties or used for anything other than in connection with the Lenten Reader and the work of Episcopal Charities. Whenever your content is shared or published, you will be credited as its creator. When shared on social media, you will be tagged and mentioned.
