Curious About What we do?
Since our founding in 1960, thousands of lives have been transformed through the work of Episcopal Charities across northern Illinois. As the social outreach arm of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, Episcopal Charities accomplishes its mission through the support of an outstanding network of partner agencies. In addition to annual operating grants, Episcopal Charities walks alongside our partners by providing regular training opportunities for organizational leaders through the capacity building program. Following the completion of a new strategic plan in June of 2020, Episcopal Charities will launch two new grant-making initiatives to accompany our ongoing support of current partner organizations. The new grant-making initiatives represent forward movement into areas of unknown territory and uncertain terrain where we join all those who risk hope in the midst of the deep challenges before us.
Planned Giving
Planned Giving allows anyone to contribute substantially to Episcopal Charities — regardless of your income or financial status, whether you have one talent or five. It is a way in which everyone has a chance to further God’s work. Moreover, planned giving also provides significant financial benefits to the giver.

Does your parish have an idea to care for others in your community?
Episcopal Charities announces the fourth year of the Parish Partner Grants Program. This grants program is a resource for Episcopal Churches that wish to begin or enhance outward-facing projects designed to meet local vulnerable populations' individual and/or collective needs. In addition to resourcing individual congregations, this grants program encourages churches to partner with other churches and with non-profit organizations in their communities.
As the social outreach arm of the Diocese of Chicago, Episcopal Charities is energized by Bishop Clark’s vision for social outreach. Moving forward, our work will be framed by the four areas of social concern she announced last year: Anti-Violence, Creation Care, Equity and Equality, and Hunger. The Bishop’s call to action in these four areas creates an opportunity for all of us to unite around a common vision and deepen our impact for all of God's children.
We look forward to a partnership with your parish or mission through the Parish Partner Grants Program this year!
