Our Mission
Episcopal Charities is the social outreach arm of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. We gather parishes, nonprofits, and leaders into one body of shared mission. Through grants, convening, and leadership formation, we strengthen people, partners, and communities to prevent violence, advance equity, end hunger, and care for creation.
We envision an Episcopal Diocese of Chicago full of healing communities, transforming and being transformed, resulting in a more just and merciful world.

Our impact shows up through our partners. Parishes see needs in their own neighborhoods. Nonprofits meet needs with skill and at scale. Our job is to invest in them, connect them, and strengthen the people who lead them.

How We Work: One Living System
Our four programs work together like a growing tree. Parish Partner Grants plant seeds in local ministries. Some grow to become our Impact Nonprofit Partners or Legacy Nonprofit Partners. The Catalyst Project Fund keeps us responsive to new needs. Our Inner Capacity Building Program forms the roots: leaders who are cared for as people.
