Legacy Gala 2019 - Photos

2019’s Legacy Gala was the most successful fundraising event on record for Episcopal Charities.

We gathered at the Intercontinental on Michigan Ave to honor the philanthropic legacy of Quintin E. Primo, III. We also honored the late Bishop James W. Montgomery and Quintin’s late father, Bishop Quintin E. Primo, Jr. Guests of the event were welcomed by Sarah Adler, President of the Board of Trustees, and the opening prayer was given by Bishop Jeff Lee, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, who was also recognized for his years of service as the Bishop of Chicago.

Video presentations offered a window into the legacy of social justice we have inherited from Primo and Montgomery whose work centered on racial justice and the inclusion of women at every level of the church’s life.

Both Matt Berryman and Quintin Primo offered remarks challenging everyone present to join together in giving generously for the sake of those we serve through Episcopal Charities.

In addition to the evening’s purpose of raising funds to support Episcopal Charities, this year’s Legacy Gala brought Episcopalians and other friends together around a common mission, a common identity, and a compelling spiritual vision grounded in love and justice. To top it all off, the night ended with a room full of dancing, merriment, and celebration. We can’t wait to do it again in 2020!
