Soiree Sharing Resources
Here are some suggestions as to how you can share the soiree information to your friends, neighbors, and parish to attend the event on October 10!
Send these (adapt it to meet your needs) to your parish rector, administrative assistant with a note inviting folks in your parish to attend the event with you! You can ask your rector and admin assistant to place this save the date with some verbiage about Episcopal Charities and our website in your e-news, your Sunday bulletin, your parish website, etc. Not just on one week but for several weeks.
“Episcopal Charities Autumn Soiree is a fundraising and friend-raising event to celebrate and support the work of Episcopal Charities – the social outreach arm of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. Episcopal Charities is a 501(c)(3) that supports 17 non-profit organizations and numerous Episcopal Churches every year with financial grants. Through annual grant-making, Episcopal Charities impacts the lives of the most vulnerable with food, shelter, education, mental health care, support for adoptive children and families, rehabilitation for formerly incarcerated persons, and so much more with the healing love of God. In addition to financial grants, Episcopal Charities walks alongside the leaders of our partner organizations and churches offering support through our Leadership Inner Capacity Building Program.
If you don’t yet know the work of Episcopal Charities, I encourage you as a current trustee, to come and enjoy a night of dancing, merriment, food, spiritual inspiration, and collective support of ministries for our vulnerable sisters and brothers throughout the Diocese of Chicago. This is a way to put your faith in action with a trusted organization with over 60 years of experience helping others in Christ’s name.
I would love to get a group together from our church to attend this very fun evening! Please call me at ______________ or email me at ______________. Tickets are very reasonable at $25 per person and can be purchased at www.episcopalcharities.org.”
Use these attachments as ways to notify friends and family about the event. You can use an adapted form of the verbiage above and send this to folks you’d personally like to invite to attend the Autumn Soiree.
Text these pictures to friends and family and ask them to come to this with you! You can email this to yourself and download the jpeg to your ‘photos’ and then text them to folks for a more immediate invititation!
Create a post that you’d place on your Facebook or Instagram account. Use some of the verbiage above and post one of the attached pictures of the save the date to your story and your wall. Also, when you do this, tag Episcopal Charities.
Use these pictures to set up a lunch with your Rector and invite her or him to work with you on inviting the whole parish to come eat, dance, and enjoy one another at a Diocesan event while supporting a wonderful Christian cause. You should take your rector or vicar to lunch anyway and thank them for the work they are doing and this is a good way to ask them about bringing folks from the parish to the event as a community-building event for your church.
These are just a few ideas of what you could do. And, this is just the invitation. There will be more ways for all of our trustees to get active in terms of inviting their parish and making sure we get folks in the door for this fabulous 60s/70s glamour party.
